About VORA
VORA
VORA was born out of change—unexpected, unplanned, and sudden.
The name itself comes from Catalan, meaning 'edge' or 'shore'—a place of transition and possibility. Just like the space between land and water, Vora is about creating the space for transformation - and accompanying you through the currents of change.
Founded in February 2025, VORA is still a small, precious plant—recently rooted but nurtured with care and intention. On paper, it's a one-woman show—but in reality, it's much more like a VORA family. A vast network of collaborators, supporters, mentors, and supportive clients makes it feel like a thriving community, each contributing their own expertise and energy to help shape the journey.
Mélanie Huser, Founding Partner
Clients often call me their 'emergency doctor for culture' because they love my pragmatic, hands-on approach to leadership and organizational challenges. The nickname makes sense, considering my background: I originally trained as a medical doctor and spent four years working as an emergency physician—think ambulance doctor.
The transition from a medical doctor to an organizational consultant is difficult to explain in a few words, but it included an early mid-life crisis, a two-year stay abroad in Buenos Aires and Barcelona, a Master's degree in Coaching (also in Barcelona), and a big leap of faith.
That journey eventually led me to leadership and organizational consulting. In 2018, I joined a boutique consultancy in Zurich and spent seven years working my way up from consultant to managing partner. For the last two years, I led a small team and guided organizations through complex transformations—helping leaders and teams align, connect, and thrive.
Then, in February 2025, life threw another curveball when I was laid off due to economic reasons. What seemed like a setback at first became an unexpected liberation—the chance to build something new and unapologetically bold: VORA.
From day one, my intention was clear: to show up as 100% myself. To combine sharp thinking and quick wit with deep intuition and a big heart. What followed was almost surreal. The momentum, the resonance, the clients—it was as if VORA had been waiting to happen all along.
